This bar is great for:

* Bench Press
* Board Press
* Incline Press
* Military Press
* Hammer Curls

* Front Raises

This bar is a great for all repetition and max effort work. If you have any kind of shoulder problems this bar may be what you need.

This handles are in the same position as you will find with most pressing logs. 52" between collars - fits most power racks. Usually ships in 1-2 weeks. Comes with collars.

Q and A Chatter on the Swiss Bar

Q
Dave,

I have some questions about the Swiss Multi-Grip Bar. I've got some shoulder and elbow issues and have been using a cheaper version of this in my home gym (got it before yours came out.) I'm thinking about buying one of these from you to use at the gym I've been working out at.

Can I ask a few questions? I've seen the videos of you using this and know you've got shoulder issues that are probably far worse than mine...are you finding that you can use less weight with this bar versus a straight bar?

And second, do you think that gains in strength from using this bar carry over to the straight bar well? For example, if someone wanted to train primarily with this bar so as to keep shoulders and elbows healthy yet wanted to compete, do you think they would have any success using this and then switching to a straight bar for just a few weeks before a meet?

Lastly...is there any particular reason the handles are totally parallel versus being slightly angled (like the old football bar you used to sell?)

Dan

A

Dan,

The position of the handles pretty much takes the lats out of it and works the arms much harder. It does not bother my shoulder much at all due to where the grip placement is.

If your triceps are holding your back yes it will carry over well to a straight bar. If it is your lats, traps, pecs no it will not. This is a hard one to answer because I am not sure how you would use it. For small 3 week bench cycles I can see it helping as long as you get back to the straight bar. The bench is very technical so I would not get away from that for very long. Now for Max Effort work this would be great to use and how I would suggest it being worked in.

Yes, I found the angled handles useless and right where I wanted the parallel grips to be. We changed this because I wanted a bar I could actually use and feel like my hands were where they are supposed to be (close to if you did parallel grip dumbbell presses). I also found the angled grips were not optimal on my wrists and killed my elbows when doing extensions. The bar came about from what I disliked about the other one I did buy and used twice and gave up on it.

Oh, we never sold the other bar for the reasons mentioned above.

Dave

p.s.Don't use this for ALL your bench training. Use it for max effort work and some accessory training. If you want to take some stress of your shoulders than bench less often and use a manpon (see exercise index - video section). Or search Q and A for manpon.

Usually ships in 1-2 weeks.
